Have you ever been sick the day after a massage? Were you achy or nauseated? If so… you were dehydrated. Many therapists offer water AFTER a treatment, but I have learned two important things over the years.

  1. Hydrated tissue moves easily and quickly. It requires very few treatments, in turn, is cost-effective for the client.
  2. A hydrated body will release the toxins naturally…A dehydrated body catches the toxins in the tissues, causing overall aches and pain.

Are you drinking half your body weight, in ounces daily (i.e., half of 150 pounds = 75ounces)

“Drink half your body weight in ounces of water every day.”

Imagine beef jerky… this is your body without enough water. Add water, and you have a nice rump roast. One is stiff, tight, and brittle… the other soft and pliable.

We are made up of over 87 percent water…It just makes sense that tissues and muscles become tight, resulting in aching… and like not keeping oil in your car, how can we expect our nervous system to fire properly if we’re depriving it of water?

Simply increasing your water intake will often help or elevate issues that many people face on a daily basis….Just a few are…Headaches, fatigue, small aches and pains, inability to concentrate, and yes, ladies… wrinkles!

We spend a lot of time and money trying to fix the outside… What if just drinking enough water could plump up the tissue from the INSIDE?

Some common things that draw hydration FROM the tissues are… smoking, wine, coffee, antihistamines, and antibiotics just to name a few… granted, we all want to enjoy life in our own way… but knowing this… I suggest for every glass of wine, alcohol or coffee… drink the same in water to offset the dehydration.

If your mouth is dry, your lips are cracked, your skin looks like parchment paper, or your urine is yellow or gold…. you are EXTREMELY dehydrated and are probably experiencing the issues previously stated.

So grab a glass of water… start drinking half your body weight in ounces of water daily for three weeks… you’ll be amazed!
